Dr Wakefield: Govt. experts have conceded that MMR vaccine caused autism

This is the video and transcript (below) of Dr. Andrew Wakefield’s response to the UK government blaming him for the current measles outbreak.

Good morning. The first thing that I want to say is that  I did not seek out this latest media maelstrom. It came about because of an outbreak of measles in South Wales in the United Kingdom for which I have been blamed by her Majesty’s government.  So I did not seek this out but now it seems I have been denied the  opportunity to redress the allegations that have been made against me by members of the government; by members of public health and that is clearly unacceptable.

So legitimate debate about the safety of MMR vaccine and the origin of the measles epidemic in Wales have now been effectively blocked by the government insisting that the British media do not give me a time; do not allow me to respond. And that is the purpose of this. So I did not start this current fight.

The important thing to say is that back in 1996 — 1997 I was made  aware of children developing autism, regressive autism, following exposure in many cases to the measles mumps rubella vaccine. Such  was my concern about the safety of that vaccine that I went back and reviewed every safety study, every pre-licensing study of the MMR vaccine and other measles containing vaccines before they were  put into children and after. And I was appalled with the quality of that science. It really was totally below par and that has been reiterated by other authoritative sources since.

I compiled my observations into a 200 page report which am seeking to put online once I get the permission of my lawyers. And that report was the basis of my impression that the MMR vaccine was inadequately tested for safety certainly compared with the single vaccines and therefore that was the basis of my recommendation in 1998 at press conference that parents should have the option of  the single vaccines.

All I could do as a parent was to say what would I do for my child. That was the only honest answer I could give. My position on that has not changed.

So, what happened subsequently. At that time the single measles vaccine, the single vaccines were available freely on the National Health Service. Otherwise, I would not have suggested that option.  So parents, if they were legitimately concerned about the safety of MMR could go and get the single vaccines. Six months later the  British government unilaterally withdrew the importation license for the single vaccines therefore depriving parents of having these on the NHS; depriving parents who had legitimate concerns  about the safety of MMR from a choice; denying them the opportunity to protect their children in the way that they saw fit.

And I was astonished by this and I said to Dr Elizabeth Miller off  the Health Protection Agency why would you do this, if your  principal concern is to protect children from serious infectious disease. Why would you remove an option from parents who are legitimately concerned about the safety of MMR. And her answer was  extraordinary. She said to me if we allow parents the option of single vaccines it would destroy our MMR programme. In other words concern, her principal concern seemed to be full protection of the MMR programme and not protection of children.

Now were parents concerns about the safety of MMR legitimate. Did they have a reason to be concerned. The answer is unequivocally yes.

When the MMR was introduced in the UK in the late 1980s there were three brands that were introduced. Two of those three brands had to be withdrawn hurriedly four years later because they were causing meningitis in children at an unacceptable rate. In other words two thirds of the licensed vaccines in the UK had to be removed from circulation because they were dangerous.

And what is very disturbing about this and this was drawn to my attention by a government whistleblower, Dr Alistair Thores, who was working at for the Joint Committee On Vaccination And Immunisation, the regulatory body in the UK. He made it clear to  the British government that they should not use those dangerous vaccines. He made it clear to the activity prior to the licensing of the MMR in 1987. Why? Because he was brought in from Canada where they were already having problems with this vaccine under the name Trivirix, the identical vaccine to the vaccine which was  introduced into the UK under the name Pluserix. And there they had noticed that there were cases of meningitis which were far in excess of those which they had previously seen. This meningitis was being caused by the mumps strain; Urabe Am-9.

And so he advised the Joint Committee not to touch this vaccine: it was dangerous. They ignored his pleas and they went ahead and introduced it anyway. Four years later it had to be hurriedly withdrawn because it was causing precisely the complication that he had warned them off. Moreover, they were asked, David Salisbury  specifically, were asked to allocate funds to active surveillance of adverse events. For the government to go out there and to look and last doctors if they had seen cases of this meningitis. He  said no. That was denied and they relied on passive surveillance.  The spontaneous reports from doctors and hospitals. That is known to pick up perhaps 1 to 2% of true adverse reactions. In other  words it was going to inevitably underestimate the true numbers of this reaction. Hence, the delay of four years for the removal of a vaccine that should never have been licensed in the first place.

It was with that background and with that insight into the practices of the Joint Committee of Vaccination and Immunisation and I took the stand that I did on MMR. I was deeply and justifiably concerned. So the next question is beyond the fact that MMR vaccine is not safe and has not been adequately tested;  not just my opinion but the opinion of many; is does MMR vaccine cause autism.

Now this question has been answered not by me but by the courts, by the vaccine courts in Italy and in the United States of America where it appears that many children over the last 30 years have  been awarded millions of dollars for the fact that they have been brain-damaged by MMR vaccine and other vaccines and that brain-damage has led to autism. That is a fact.

Now it has been argued by the government that some poor judge has been forced into making this decision that on balance the vaccine cause the autism in the face and in contradiction to the evidence that is available, the scientific evidence. No. That is grossly misleading. Three of these cases the least; Poling, the Italian  case, and more recently the Mojabi case, were conceded by the government experts. In other words the government extrovert is,  the government themselves have conceded that the vaccine cause the autism. They didn’t fight the case. They conceded it based upon the evidence available to – all of it – that the MMR vaccine caused the child’s autism.

So this isn’t some poor judge being forced into a position in the absence of the evidence or in contradiction to the evidence. This is the government’s own experts conceding that the MMR vaccine caused the autism, or caused brain damage in this case that led to be autism. And what we have are millions of dollars being paid out to these children to fund their autism treatment so when the  government says it is not settled cases of autism, please bear in  mind that what they’re paying for the costs of the autism treatments. The government if it says that is speaking out of both sides of its mouth.

So let me turn now specifically to the measles outbreak in South Wales. The outbreak that the government is alleging is my responsibility, which is clearly in the face of the evidence from Lord Howe in Parliament and for which originally I suggested protection against measles with a single vaccines.

Now it is very important for people to bear in mind that MMR doesn’t protect against measles. Measles vaccine protects against  measles. The mumps and rubella components are irrelevant. So, if  single vaccines were available; if the government had not  withdrawn the availability of a vaccine, then there would be no  outbreak of measles in Wales, there would be no discussion of measles cases and potential measles deaths. So, the blame for this must lie on the shoulders on those who withdrew the option of the  single vaccine from the parents who were legitimately concerned about the safety of the MMR. Not because of me but what had  happened because of that vaccine long before I came on the scene.

But there is one problem. There is one contradiction. That is as Lord Howe has said in Parliament, MMR vaccine uptake is at an  all-time high. So why are we now seeing measles outbreaks in  highly vaccinated populations. It would be very interesting to find out how many of those children in the current outbreak have  actually been vaccinated. I suspect many. And this is being seen before.

One of the problems I think are encountering is that of vaccine failure; primary and secondary vaccine failure. Primary failure -  not enough children responded by developing immunity to the vaccine in the first place and secondary vaccine failure – those that do develop immunity that immunity disappears very quickly  over time. And this has been seen with mumps vaccine. The mumps fixing does not work and we are seeing similar outbreaks of measles in vaccinated populations. And this is one of the long-term problems of using live viral vaccines over time, taking  seed stock virus and repeatedly using it and using it and using it over time that it seems for some reason to lose its potency. And  what we’re seeing now what I believe is unintended unexpected consequence of long-term use of these live viral vaccines; and that is vaccine failure.

And that is something that is really concerning. It is not theoretical. It has been seen unequivocally with the mumps vaccine. And I believe we are now seeing it with measles. If that is the case then 1) blaming me for the outbreak of this measles case come measles cases in South Wales, is totally inappropriate. It is not addressing the core issue of what you do about live viral vaccine failure, because if the viruses infecting people at  an older age than the outcome may be more serious and there are no  therapeutic interventions for protecting those people from measles.

So the government has in effect put all its eggs in one basket and now we’re seeing measles come back. That is my belief.

What we face unambiguously is an epic of autism; an environmentally driven epidemic of autism now alarmingly affecting  one in 31 boys in the United States of America and I saw data from Yale just the other day from South Korea showing that one in 36 children in South Korea are affected by this lifelong severe  neurodevelopmental disorder. There is the true epidemic. Do we see attention being paid to that in anything like the same way that the media are applying attention to the measles outbreak in South Wales. No we do not. That is the true epidemic. And that is the one that we really have to deal with as a matter of urgency.

Now what I would like to do, I have been, Dr David Elliman is said that this was my fault and I understand that this morning he went  on the news and he was saying that the media were responsible for the latest sort of debate, the latest argument, by giving me some kind of voice. So he is able to make this very serious  allegation against me and then deprive me of the opportunity of  responding in the media. That is an extraordinary situation in what is supposedly a free country.

What I’m suggesting is a formal scientific debate in public in  front of an audience that is televised. And specifically Dr David Salisbury I would like to debate you because I believe you are at  the heart of this matter. I believe the decisions taken by you and by your committee, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and  Immunisation, lie at the heart of this matter.

There are many things to debate with you.

I’d like to debate with you specifically why you have denied repeatedly that there was any form of indemnity for the   manufacturer of the Urabe containing vaccine Pluserix when it was originally introduced; why you have denied that.

And I have here Dr Salisbury are the unredacted minutes of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation held on 7 May 1993  and here in these minutes it says “once SKB” that is SmithKline Beecham “continued to sell the Urabe strain vaccine without  liability”. How Dr Salisbury do you explain the term “without liability” in that context. It seems to me that this was something that was disclosed to me by your whistleblower from the government, from your own committee, who said the deal was done  with the manufacturer to exempt them from liability for introducing the vaccine that they had concerns about because there  were already having problems with it in Canada where it was then withdrawn.

I would also like to put it to you, I would like to ask you why  you felt it necessary to contact the General Medical Council and  urge them in the strongest possible terms to prosecute me more      vigourously; indeed to admonish them for not prosecuting me more vigourously. Do you feel that was an abuse of your governmental  position introducing inevitable bias into the General Medical  Council. And since you are at the heart of this matter and have been according to your curriculum vitae from the very beginning, the introduction of MMR into this country, it would seem to me that you are the perfect person to debate this in public with me.  And if we can exonerate MMR vaccine from causing the problems which I believe and many parents believe it is causing them that is all well and good. But that will only be resolved in an open scientific debate. And therefore I think that the time has come to  you and I to have that discussion.

I’m sorry you’re still going through this Dr. Wakefield. I can’t imagine how difficult it’s been for you, but hang in there. You are lucky in that your suffering serves a higher purpose. People suffer every day, but I really believe that everything you are going through is part of the craziness that is leading the world to a shift in consciousness about vaccines, and corruption in government too. I, for one, appreciate the contribution you’ve made to this cause, and continue to make whether you mean to or not. Bless you.

  2. Doug Hertford MD says:

I am confident that eventually, not only will Dr. Wakefield be fully vindicated, his medical license reinstated, a formal apology granted to him by the British Government and the Lancet and be honored in a parade through Piccadilly Circus. Furthermore, I suspect those in positions of power who have committed the very type of fraud of which they hypocritically and falsely accused Dr. Wakefield, shall be appropriately dishonored and thoroughly investigated.

  3. Fraser Gault says:

I am the grandfather of a autistic boy and have followed the trials and tribulations of Dr Andrew Wakefield from the start .I was convinced in the truth of his findings from the very beginning and even more so today.I do not think it is too strong to say that a crime against humanity has, and still is, being committed.
Dr. Wakefield, I applaud your stance and perseverance. The truth will prevail.

  4. Keith Jones says:

I have been a practicing Integrative therapist for more than 21 years, I test for and treat a wide range of medical conditions. over the years I have now seen a huge increase in the amount of children with partial or full autistic spectrum disorders, many non verbal, and whilst I can test for a wide variety of causal factors there is always one common element that comes up time after time and that is a negative reaction to the MMR vaccine, and whilst I would concede that this or any other vaccine rarely produces a negative reaction for other children, I have however yet to test any autistic child that the MMR vaccine has not had a negative effect on, I would also like to add that in the vast majority of these cases, the parents, (predominantly the mothers) of the children noticed a degenerative decline in the cognitive and behavioral aspects of their children in as little as two weeks after receiving this vaccine. I fully support the heroic work of Dr Wakefield along with all the other doctors who have dared to question the policy of govenments and the inate greed of pharmaceutical industry.who have also had their license taken away and been demonised by the media who are at best the paid for puppets to this morally bankrupt regime. quote: `as long as there is air in my body I will be a seeker of the truth`

  5. As a doctor myself, I have strongly believed that autism was caused by vaccinations. I have a story about the effects they had on my own son. We all owe tremendous gratitude to Dr. Wakefield for his courage and historical findings. I pray that this information gets the widespread attention that our society deserves!

  6. BRANDIE DHUY-BARTEE says:

AS A MOTHER WITH TWIN BOYS WITH AUTISM I AM IN SHOCK. FROMDAY ONE I ASKED THE DOCTORS COULD THIS BE FROM A VACCINE. THEY ASSURED ME THAT MANY YEARS OF STUDIES THERE IS NO CONNECTION. I WILL PRAY FOR YOU TO BE REINSTATED TO YOUR FULL POTENTIAL TO CONTINUE TO HELP FIND THE CURE TO THIS HORRIBLE DISEASE. I WILL BE MAKING MY CALLS TO ALL THOSE WHO NEED TO HEAR ME AND THOSE WHO PROBABLY DONT WANT TO HEAR FROM ME. THANK YOU FOR STANDING UP FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE AND KNOW TO BE TRUE. NEVER GIVE UP YOU HAVE ONE MORE PARENT WHO WILL BE STANDING UP WITH YOU IN SPIRIT. ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU.

  7. Kathleen says:

It is painfully obvious that Salisbury knows he would only make a fool of himself if he was stupid enough to debate Dr Wakefield publicly, so it’ll have to be forced.

Speaking of debates though, there is an ugly hate-bandwagon petition on the forcechange.com that is bashing Jenny McCarthy and using the same old Rupert Murdoch lies as its basis. I wrote to forcechange.com asking them to not let the false statements of that petition to remain unchallenged.

Perhaps there should be a petition to ALL media outlets who allow those Rupert Murdoch lies about Dr Wakefield to be repeated and remain unchallenged on their sites, like to forcechange.com, salon.com. the uk’s Independent newspaper, the [un]Scientific American, etc. It is time to demand they stop misinforming the public about Dr Wakefield and correct the record once and for all!

Here’s a rough draft so far:

“Stop Repeating These 3 Rupert Murdoch Lies About Dr Wakefield!” :

    1-
It is always being repeated that Dr Wakefield “falsified evidence to make it look like vaccines caused autism.” In actual fact, Dr Wakefield clearly states in his conclusion of that 1998 paper that there was no causal link between vaccines and autism. So how can that paper be guilty of “falsifying evidence to show a link between vaccines and autism” if the conclusion states the exact opposite of what it is accused of trying fabricate?

    2-
In that 1998 paper, Dr Wakefield also suggests further investigation into a “possible” link between vaccines and autism because the parents of the studied children were insisting that vaccines caused their child’s autism. Dr Wakefield was literally told to retract that particular statement which he rightly refused to do on grounds that it is unscientific to retract a statement about a possibility (especially if it STILL has never been investigated! : http://www.activistpost.com/2013/07/vaccination-causes-autism-heres-what.html )

    3-
The longest running trial of the GMC was unable to justify the removal of Dr Wakefield’s license except through one charge: An ethics violation but strangely not against any of the ethics of 1998, but rather against ethics which did not exist until well after 1998, well after his paper was already published! (Imagine that! Being busted for breaking a law which did not exist until well after you “broke” it. The profit-prison industry must be salivating at the possibilities with this one…)

http://www.coto2.wordpress.com/2011/07/17/murdoch-and-vaccines-exposure-of-murdochs-crimes-expose-a-much-larger-story/ -and- http://www.politicolnews.com/british-medical-journals-credibility-questioned/ (6 Jan 2011) -and- http://www.canaryparty.net/index.php/the-news/82-senior-author-of-mmr-paper-john-walker-smith-wins-appeal (7 March 2012) -senior author of Dr Wakefield’s 1998 paper is exonerated of all misconduct.

Anyway, would anyone seriously suggest that the parents of all those autistic children are lying when they say vaccines are the cause, and that the poor victim is really the multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical industry which despite it’s rampant corruption, cares more about the welfare of children than they do about the profits of their shareholders? Really?!

And if vaccines are so “safe,” then why did the U.S. Supreme Court officially refer to vaccines as “unavoidably unsafe” in Bruesewitz v. Wyeth No. 09-152, a decision which also granted the entire vaccine industry immunity from ALL liability in cases of injury and death? -source: http://www.ebcala.org/areas-of-law/vaccine-law/guest-post-crack-down-on-those-who-dont-vaccinate-a-response-to-art-caplan/ -and if you wouldn’t refer to advocates for safer cars as “anti-car,” then why would you refer to advocates for safer vaccines as “anti-vaccine”?

And if autism is really “a genetic disease” and the skyrocketing rates of autism are really due to “better diagnostic methods,” then WHERE are those same high numbers of autism in older generations, and what were they misdiagnosed as? Besides, to anyone who views this 7 minute video on the average day to day experience of living with autism, it becomes painfully obvious that “better diagnostic methods” do not explain how previous generations of parents of autistic children could’ve missed there was something wrong with their child: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Iu7C5clA4q0 (Broken Nights and Lost Days: Inside World of Severe Autism)

The hate-bandwagon against advocates for safer vaccines is going full speed ahead. But if all they have offer is intimidation and ridicule, then they don’t have much of an argument, do they. The truth will prevail over everything!

I would like to commend you Dr. Wakefield for fighting the good fight.. We need more doctors like you that actually care about the children and not the money that can be made…… However i am writing this because my wife and I are expecting our daughter in the next week….. I am absolutely terrified to get her vaccinated…. Then on the other hand i worry if we do not then she could become ill from a disease that could have been prevented…. I have friends with autistic children…. One of the boys is unable to show the slightest bit of emotion…. He is making great progress because his parents are wonderful… Though i can not say that i would want my daughter or the wife and I to have to endure what they have gone through…. I know that no one has all the answers but what would you do?? any response will be much appreciated

    sincerely

Christopher, In light of this new information and fraud now uncovered that the CDC perpetrated, I would think that it would be the duty of your doctor to not give the MMR and instead embark on the single dose of the measles vacinne you request. If he did not do this, or the Government would not allow it – could legal action be taken for witholding the measles vaccination? I would ask a Legal person about that.
As a footnote – Both my brother and I had measles (not as babies but before our teens) and are non the worse for wear. I am now 71 years of age and on no medication or vitamins – just healthy living.

I remember in those days mothers were told that when a child had measles, the light could damage the eyes, and our rooms would be darkened by closing the curtins and putting something over the T.V. screen. However, I am not an expert – but so it seems neither are a lot of so-called professionals either.

The other thing you could check out with your doctor – my understanding is that breast fed babies have an immunity.

  9. Lia costa says:

I am from South Wales, and I only know 1 case of Measles and actually the child had her vaccines up to date, there was no fuss, children were playing normally and my surgery was busy as usually and there was no sign of any outbreak apart from the news, I ask apart from the alarming news, where was the outbreak, because we didn’t notice a thing, in my opinion this one of the schemes to shut you up, and ruin your reputation … I live in the 2nd big Wales city… This is just to disbelieve you, but we still believe so please don’t stop, you know I know everyone knows, shame on them…

  10. Vicky says:

I would LOVE to see David Salisbury or any other hot shot vaccine proponent debate ANYONE!! Particularly Dr. Wakefield or another who can expose their inadequate and pathetic attempts to scientifically defend their position. These thieves of the health of our most vulnerable and innocent, all while singing at the top of their very wealthy lungs, that their poisons do not harm children, should be forced to decry their indefensible position on vaccinations, then be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The harm that has been done, and continues to be done, is incalculable. It makes me weep. You ROCK, Dr. Wakefield!!

  11. KS says:

My heart goes out to all the parents who have children affected by vaccines! I have always believed in what Dr Wakefield has advised and would like to commend you for being a doctor who has given everything to try and actually help patients.
I will never forget what a doctor from Harley Street told my sister when we took her little girl for a measles vaccination as she too did not want her to have the MMR, he commended my sister on her choice. He could never fathom how you inject a child with all three live viruses at once when, when you had them in single doses you had to wait at least six weeks between the vaccinations. We also then learned that newly vaccinated children actually carried the live virus and therefor were most likely to be the ones causing the outbreak in the first place! I have since read that it is advised that a vaccinated child is actually kept away from a non-vaccinated child for up to two weeks after receiving the vaccination!
I am a mother of a five year old boy, I only allowed the measles vaccination only because I am a single mother and needed to get him into a nursery school. I held my breath each time he had it but I was lucky with THAT vaccination. Just before his third birthday I took him to a paediatrician for the first time as he had problem breathing because of his tonsils. The doctor and ENT I was sent to agreed he needed them out they were so big they obstructed his airway. All his bloodwork came back normal, he was a healthy robust little boy, never a bad mood, never lost his temper, never whined. He is a beautiful little boy. But his paediatrician noticed he only had his measles vaccination and when asked I told him there was NO WAY my son would get the MMR. Then he inquired about another vaccination and made me feel like the worst mother on the planet as I had not vaccinated my son against Pneumonia and one of the meningitis’s (sorry I think it is the Bacterial one)! He pushed and pushed and even wrote out a script (which I still have), so in April of 2011 I took him for the vaccination and not even 2 hrs after having it my son had his firs violent outburst other the next few months he grew worse and worse with various symptoms. Eventually he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes! I by accident, while researching diabetes came across the exact vaccination he had been “linked” to type 1 diabetes. I enquired about this and have been treated like I am mad or a hysterical mother and have been told by Doctors that if it is not genetic it just “happens”. They even went as far as to say that him having his tonsils out caused it. I have been trying to prove it was the vaccination as nothing else makes sense to me, I have even had the Vaccination company call me to get all his details for “documenting” purposes and that they would get back to me but never did. I tried to get someone to help me prove it but in my country the doctors rule and what they say is law! As to date no one has actually taken me seriously and that vaccination is still being used worse they give it to babies and it is an expensive vaccination. So I really and truly commend you Dr Wakefield and all those doctors behind you! You truly define what the medical industry is all about! And though I know my story has nothing to do with the MMR you give me hope that there are doctors out there trying to truly help. So thank you!

  12. I am a mother of four children who have autism and I would like you to send me more information on this because I was told that it was not the vaccines that did it. Please help me we are middle class poor and the money it takes for their medical care makes it hard. My grandson is autistic too. Please help me out I live in the USA.

  13. Christy says:

My son is 11 years old and he has autism he started showing signs after he got the shot he had a brain seizures he has problems with his intestines he has problems with his bell minutes every time he has a bowel movement there’s a huge hard and very uncomfortable the doctors have him on risperidone . ever since he was 5 years old. his life is been very hard he never spoke a word until he was 5 years old. he is extremely smart but limited social skills I would like for someone to contact me to help me and my son thank you and God bless all the mothers and fathers with autism children and God bless all of the autistic children in the world.

  14. Christy says:

Please we need help the doctors say to me it’s not the shots it must be in our blood line but my son is the only one that has autism or bowel movement problems in our whole family.

  15. cia parker says:

    Christy,
I agree with Michael’s recommendations of other web sites: they’re great, and a lot of similarly-affected families post there. I would also recommend Dr. Sears’ The Autism Book for recommendations on supplements and treatments for different symptoms of autism, also books by Dr. Kartzinel. Also the TACA website, regardingcaroline.com and Pecanbread.com My daughter, as well as tens of thousands of other children autistic by vaccine, has experienced great improvement in her bowel condition by using the special diets. The GFCF diet helped a lot, but it was the grain-free, sugar-free diet explained on pecanbread.com (the Specific Carbohydrate Diet) that has done the most. It deprives the yeast and harmful bacterial overgrowth in the intestines that cause a lot of the symptoms of bowel disease by not letting the child consume the grains and sugars that the microbes eat. Many DAN doctors say that it is THE most effective diet for treating the bowel disease associated with autism. It’s not as hard as you might think, but the almond flour is expensive. I make almond flour muffins for my daughter’s breakfast, almond flour bread for her sandwiches at lunch, almond flour cookies. Almond flour is used in meatloaf and to bread chicken. The diet relies heavily on meat, and non-starchy fruits and vegetables.
And above all, don’t let your child get any more vaccines, it would just be throwing oil on the fire. Your doctor is wrong on this one. Avoid drugs as much as possible.

      Michelle,
Part of the reason this is such a heated debate is because there are risks on both sides. It is possible, though very unlikely, that a previously healthy, well-nourished child get one of the vaccine-preventable diseases and be disabled or killed by it. But diseases like measles, mumps, chickenpox, pertussis (before the DPT), and rubella, used to be universal, mild childhood diseases that nearly all children got and recovered from without incident, gaining permanent immunity and a stronger immune system. I’ve had all of them but mumps, and may have had a subclinical case of that, and I recovered from all of them with no problem. If you read Aviva JIll Romm’s book Vaccinations, she’ll give you information on improving your child’s immune system so he’ll be less likely to have a bad case should he get one of the VPDs, and advice on treating them at home, including symptoms of possibly dangerous complications like pneumonia, meningitis, or encephalitis, so you’ll know when to seek appropriate medical attention. The vaccines are much more dangerous than the diseases. Babies should be kept at home for at least five or six months to protect them from all diseases, but especially pertussis, which may kill as many as one in 200 infants who gets it. Most get through it with no problem, but it is dangerous enough that young babies should be protected from possible carriers of it, and should be given Dr. Suzanne Humphries’ high-dose vitamin C protocol if they get it. It is not considered dangerous for older babies, children, or adults. Measles is not a dangerous disease for previously healthy children. Women who have had and recovered from measles confer placental immunity to their babies for a number of months and their own antibodies to measles for as long as they breastfeed. Children (or grown-ups) with measles must stay in bed throughout the illness as the disease decreases immune function for about three weeks after the rash appears, leaving the patient vulnerable to secondary infections. Recuperation time at home must be permitted. Vitamin A decreases complications, while giving any fever reducer greatly increases complications and mortality. No Tylenol or Ibuprofen, no chilling or cold baths or compresses should be given. But these are just common sense measures: measles is very rarely a dangerous disease, despite Big Pharma’s propaganda designed to sell their product.

My baby, like thousands of others, reacted to the hep-B vax at birth with constant screaming for four days and nights, vaccine-induced encephalitis. I let her get the DTaP at 2, 4, and 6 months, but she caught pertussis anyway at 8 months, and gave it to me. It was alarming and fatiguing, but not dangerous, and we both eventually recovered, she after one month and I after two months. She got the DTaP booster at 18 months, it wiped out her only two words, and she was diagnosed with autism two months later.

I would say that if you can leave your baby at home or with a single caregiver for the first six months, and breast feed for as long as possible, your baby has the best possible chance of remaining healthy during the first, most vulnerable months. If he or she gets the childhood diseases later (preferably after one year of age, but you really can’t pick and choose), he or she should be well-nursed at home according to advice like that of Aviva Romm, but the experience will be the best thing possible for his long-term health. There is no substitute for experience in the field for building a strong, competent immune system. Vaccines are a trick to fool the immune system, which often backfire by causing brain inflammation (encephalitits) and/or skewing immune response to a Th-2 autoimmune reaction (asthma, allergies, bowel disease, etc.) Toxins like mercury, aluminum, and adjuvants like peanut oil (sensitizing the immune system to peanut protein) all cause severe problems of their own.

In my mind, after years and years of research, I’d say that you would be wise to refuse all vaccines for your children. If they get measles, chickenpox, pertussis, or mumps, good, they’ll then be part of the herd we need to build real herd immunity. You really don’t want to get into the world of neurological and immune system damage caused by vaccines. I have MS and mito disease from a reaction to a tetanus booster; my father was paralyzed for the last three years of his life by a flu vaccine. Vaccines are bad news, and it won’t be long before they will be rejected by everyone. In the meantime, protect your children from them.

I just ran across this video as I was searching for where to get my 6-year-old separate mumps, measles and rubella vaccines. I have had problems finding them. I am a big supporter of Dr. Wakefield’s study and find it incredible that he has been the target of this witch hunt. I have 2 boys – 18 months apart in age – born in 1997 and 1999 respectively who have autism. We strongly believe the MMR is the cause. We have a healthy and normal (although it seems “normal” is almost a politically incorrect term these days) 6-year-old who we shield from any vaccinations until this year. We have now caught up, with the exception of MMR. Ever since my wife was pregnant with our third child, people have looked at us condescendingly – initially as though we were hereditarily being stupid and later as if we were ignorant from wanting to protect our 3rd son. I am frustrated with this multi-government cover-up – in my estimation – in the UK, USA, and Canada. I applaud Dr. Wakefield’s bravery and I hope somehow my 2 cents worth could help in some small way.

  18. Brittany says:

I have just one question? Will a doctor separate this vaccine if I make a big deal out of it? Or will I just have to refuse the shot all together! I know 3 people that have had this happen to their children or family member and they all say that it was after they had gotten their MMR shot. And it began with a brain seizure. Please let me know what I need to do for my son. I have already asked them to separate it from all his other vaccines and they did, but I did not know that the shot itself had to separated.

      Brittany,
Some doctors will and some won’t. A lot are circling the wagons and taking a hard tack, insisting on vaccinating if you want to remain in their practice. Totally contemptible. Of course the MMR often causes autism and bowel disease (as well as dozens of other conditions listed on the package insert). It’s much more dangerous than measles, mumps, or rubella. If the pediatrician refuses to listen to you, try a GP, or an osteopath. You can probably find someone to see your child, but in most cases, you may never even need a pediatrician; they make their money primarily off of well-baby visits centered on vaccines. Children shouldn’t have their fevers reduced, if they don’t get the vaccines they are very unlikely to get asthma or allergies, and there are many excelllent books and websites (like askdrsears) with information on treating any childhood sickness imaginable. Any doctor who insists on vaccines should not be trusted or tolerated. Even separating the MMR into the M, M, and R will not guarantee its safety. One of the Lancet Twelve had reacted with autism to the separate measles vaccine. There is absolutely no reason to risk the many permanent disabling effects of the MMR either together or separately, they are simply not dangerous diseases (with the caveats I mentioned above). Rubella causes birth defects in some of the fetuses whose mother is exposed to it, but the best thing would be for girls to get the disease as children, and then never have to worry about it again. Pregnant women can either get the vax before pregnancy if they don’t have antibodies to rubella, or stay away from anyone who seems to be sick. But we need to let all these diseases come back, to build a healthy population again.

Thank you Dr Wakefield, I’m a massive supporter of you. Please keep up your hard work, the government can’t surely keep up this witch hunt to silence you much longer! My son had the MMR jab at age 6 years, some days later his behaviour became bizarre like a total change in character he cried on and on for days that he felt strange, very concerning to hear this from a young child. He is now age 17 years old, and his behaviour was never the same since the day he had the MMR jab, he struggled through school and was diagnosed as dyslexic at age 14 years old. I have a 9 year old son and refuse to have his jabs done, though when we go to his doctors they fully show there disgust at my refusal to have him vaccinated. I now hear the government is talking of excluding children from school who have not had the vaccine. I now feel freedom of choice is being lost, so the government can force parents to vaccinate. Please stay strong Dr Wakefield. Wishing you all the best. Big thank you.

Thank you Dr. Wakefield. I am now free of some kind of guilt that I could not find an answer to. Did I drop him or feed him something or something happened when the babysitter was there? Or… Two of my five children have autism. Two of my children had the hard measles and almost died after receiving shots. I am also a horse woman and a certain blood line of horses after receiving shots had severe physical and emotional problems and had to be destroyed. I worry for my grandchildren knowing that our bloodline reacts to shots. Thank you for your sacrifices for our children, and my own emotional well being as a Mom and as a horse breeder. I am free now. Kyle Mary Gattuso, USA

Thank You Dr. Wakefield, for you knowledge, for your fight, for exposing what MMR vaccine often causes autism and bowel disease as well as dozens of other conditions listed on the package insert. There is additional danger in the MMR vaccine as well. Vaccine contamination after being developed and produced using aborted fetal cells.

    Autism

The dangers of using aborted fetal cell lines for vaccine manufacture have been debated by the FDA for over 50 years, and yet they have not done sufficient safety studies. The active component of a vaccine is a virus. Viruses are too large to manufacture in test tubes. Therefore, vaccine manufacturers exploit the natural method of producing virus– they inoculate
cells and the cells produce the virus for them. Each vial of vaccine contains contaminants from the cells used to make the virus. When we use animal cells to make viruses, the residual material is not human and so we mount an immune response to it and eliminate it. However, in the case of vaccines produced using aborted human fetal cell lines, we have the dangers of triggering an autoimmune response and insertion of the contaminating DNA to disrupt the child’s own genes.

In the US, autism has spiked up in 3 distinct years, called changepoints. The first changepoint occurred in 1981, the second in 19881, and the third in 1996. These spikes coincide with the introduction of vaccines that are produced in aborted fetal cells. In 1979, aborted fetal cell produced MMR II was approved in the US. Compliance campaigns brought MMR II use up from as low as 49% for children born before 1987 to over 82% for children born in 1989 and later. A second dose of MMR II was also introduced to the vaccination schedule for children born in 1988 and later. The third changepoint corresponds to the approval of aborted fetal cell produced Varivax (chickenpox) in 1995 (See figure below).

I have a son who will be 15 in December, he was given the MMR vaccine as required by GP. I have older and younger siblings which both got the same vaccine, but my middle son on receiving his he took ill with fever and high temperature while his siblings did not! Then he was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome age 9 and he has gone on to grammar school (we live in Northern Ireland) and the school wanted him assessed for autism and he got a diagnoses of (high functioning autism) in January 2013, I always wondered if the reaction to the MMR was the cause, the medical profession says it is hereditary!! Would you say this? I would say my other two children have it too but as middle son showed signs of facial and vocal gimmicking his was diagnosed, but my others show the same similarity. All have high IQs I’m told :)
